Since 1982, Carl Shusterman has served as the Managing Attorney of his own practice in Los Angeles. Dealing exclusively in immigration cases, Carl Shusterman began his career as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. He operated in this capacity for six years before opening up the Law Offices of Carl Shusterman.

Receiving Board Certification in Immigration and Nationality Law from the State Bar of California, Carl Shusterman is authorized to practice before the Supreme Court of California. Additionally, he can practice in the Federal District Court; the Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Carl Shusterman received his education from The University of Edinburgh in addition to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Through UCLA’S Education Abroad Program, Mr. Shusterman studied Political Science at both universities, earning a B.A. in the discipline. He subsequently attended UCLA School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1973.

Mr. Shusterman has been lauded for his services as an Immigration Laywer. In 2010, Human Resource Executive Magazine dubbed him one of the Top Corporate Immigration Attorneys, and since 1997, Best Lawyers in America recognizes him annually. Additionally, Martindale-Hubble includes him in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and Super Lawyers magazine has noted his accomplishments since 2004. Mr. Shusterman holds a number of professional memberships. He served the American Immigration Lawyers Association as the Chairman of the Southern California Chapter and was later on the Board of Governors.
